World Children’s Day
The anniversary of the 1959 Convention on the Rights of the Child – children raise their voices in solidarity with the world’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable children.
This year, UNICEF launched #KidsTakeOver campaign to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child on 20 November 1989.
This year’s World Children’s Day is a day for children, by children. In countries across the world, children ‘takeover’ high-visibility roles in media, politics, business, sport, and entertainment to shine a spotlight on the most pressing challenges faced by their generation. Children will campaign in their schools and communities to help save children’s lives, fight for their rights, and fulfill their potential.
