WGS 2019: Leadership Expert Tony Robbins Working with UAE to Feed One Billion People
Dubai-UAE: 10 February, 2019 – Leadership Expert, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Tony Robbins announced today that he is currently collaborating with the UAE leadership to feed one billion people, as part of a personal humanitarian project. Robbins’ announcement, made on the opening day of the World Government Summit in Dubai, sits perfectly within the broader context of the event that seeks to put citizens first in creating a brighter future for the international community.
Taking his success in performance coaching and inspirational speaking to a whole new level, Robbins delivered an energetic performance to world leaders at a plenary session at the seventh WGS 2019. In a session on ‘The Evolution of Leaders’, Robbins had delegates and attendees out of their seats doing partner exercises, laughing and shouting.
Robbins has worked the world over, advising private clients, heads of state, Fortune 500 CEOs, A-list celebrities and Olympic athletes. Through his motivational material he has transformed and inspired the lives of millions with a spirited message of change and action.
With a mix of personal anecdotes and insights gained from over 40 years of professional experience in the field, Robbins spoke of the incredible promise and potential we see in our world. The cost of food has dropped 30-fold, healthcare breakthroughs are extending the human lifespan by 10-15 years, 1.1 billion people have been lifted out of poverty. Looking back on the progress made, Robbins noted: “What we’ve done is exciting, what’s to come is even more so.”
Robbins highlighted the role technology will play in the next wave of human advancement. “Technology provides incredible new choices… but what we need to do is make sure it’s used for the highest good,” he said.
Leadership, Robbins pointed out, is the ability to create a shared experience and compel lasting, positive change for the greater good. To this end, he stressed the importance of understanding – understanding yourself and understanding what motivates others. Doing so will allow the leaders of tomorrow to harness the power of influence in themselves and others to achieve a greater vision of the world.
It is a tried and tested approach to effecting positive change that Robbins has himself put to use. Robbins’ foundation recently reached a milestone 400 million meals delivered to families in need throughout the United States, but their aspirations do not stop there. With a new goal of feeding one billion people sustainably around the world, Robbins spoke of the joy of making a contribution that all leaders know well. As he sees it, “Our job as leaders is to take the worst days for the people we lead and find the deeper meaning to move them forward and transform them into the best.”
What makes the best, most successful leaders stand out is not their ability to do it alone, but to inspire action amongst others, to create and maintain lasting momentum. Robbins noted that leaders must not only direct a vision for progress, focus the agenda, and pour certainty into others, they must also be able to make the transition from passive discussion and knowledge sharing, to one of energy and impact through action. It is by bridging this gap, that leaders will truly move humanity in a positive direction.
The three-day World Government Summit 2019 runs until February 12 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. The landmark event has convened more than 4,000 participants from 140 countries, including heads of state and governments, as well as top-tier representatives of 30 international organizations.
