Raghda Proves The Positive Impact Of Social Media Influence By Gathering Over 200,000 Clothing Items For Gazans And Jordanians In Need
The charity campaign “Ket3at Dafa” has successfully finished its second edition, helping thousands of individuals and families in Gaza and Jordan. Dubai-based social media icon Raghda Kouyoumdjian led this initiative in partnership with the International Clothing Bank to deliver warm winter clothing to those in need.
Building on the success of last year, which gathered over 73,000 clothing donations, Raghda aimed to collect 100,000 pieces this year. With the support of her followers and partner organizations, the campaign collected over 200,000 clothing items, surpassing its initial goal and proving social media’s ability to create a positive impact on the world.
Raghda played a key role by using her social media to raise awareness, encourage donations, and inspire others to take action. She was also present on the ground to ensure that the clothing reached the people who needed it most.
“I joined this initiative to help others and show the importance of giving back,” Raghda said. “I wanted to encourage people to work together and support those who deserve warmth and help.” The campaign aimed to provide warm clothing and winter essentials to families in Jordan and Gaza, especially those struggling due to the war. With help from the Bible Society of Jordan and other groups, the donations were sorted and distributed to communities that faced dire situations.
“This initiative shows that when people unite for a common cause, we can change lives,” Raghda stated. “It has been rewarding to see the impact of this campaign, and I hope it encourages more efforts to help vulnerable communities.”
Though the campaign has concluded, Raghda encourages individuals to still support the causethrough monetary and clothing donations. Additionally, individuals looking to help can volunteer to help with sorting, packing, and delivering donations to those in need.
Raghda reflected on the success of “Ket3at Dafa,” saying: “Giving back is a responsibility, not just a one-time action. I will keep supporting initiatives that aid those in need. I want to use my social media to create lasting change.”
This campaign has shown that through the kindness of donors and community action, small contributions and utilising individuals’ influence on social media can make a significant difference in people’s lives.
