Longines To Become Official Partner And Official Timekeeper Of The First SAUDI CUP
The Saint-Imier-based company Longines, which has long-term ties with the world of international horseracing, will act as Official Partner, Official Watch and Official Timekeeper of this much-awaited equestrian event, culminating in the SAUDI CUP race itself where its USD$20 million purse will make it one of the world’s most valuable horseraces.
In addition, Longines will become the Title Partner of the LONGINES TURF HANDICAP – a contest over 3000m (1m 7f) on the track’s new, sate-of-the art turf course – the first ever turf competition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The race, originally named the Red Sea Handicap, has attracted entries from around the world and looks set to become one of the strongest fields ever assembled for a turf race.
Matthieu Baumgartner, Vice President Marketing of Longines said: “We are especially proud to start a new collaboration with the SAUDI CUP as Official Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the event. This partnership reinforces our long-lasting passion for horse racing, which dates back more than 140 years. We are looking forward to being part of the first edition of this thrilling sports event.”
Adel A Almazroa, General Manager of the Equestrian Club of Riyadh commented: “Longines’ commitment to international horseracing is well known and we are very proud to have such a prestigious company join the SAUDI CUP as partner. ”
