International Humanitarian City Appoints New CEO
International Humanitarian City (IHC), the global humanitarian hub established by the Government of Dubai under the directives of UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, today announced the appointment of Makiya Abdulrahman Al Hajri as the organisation’™s new CEO.
In her role, Al Hajri will be responsible for the implementation of all strategic, planning, financial and organizational goals at IHC. She will provide direction and leadership towards the achievement of IHC™s mission and vision, as well as to all current and future projects at IHC.
“IHC reflects HH Sheikh Mohammed’™s vision, and reiterates Dubai’™s commitment to serve as a key contributor to the global humanitarian scene. IHC has grown from strength to strength and has demonstrated time and again its ability to fulfil its role in making Dubai an effective humanitarian and aid hub.
“I am grateful to be a part of this establishment, which has a membership base of over 50 organisations, including local and international NGOs, humanitarian suppliers and United Nations agencies, and we will soon have new strategies and plans in place to grow the organisation further,” said Al Hajri.
Prior to joining IHC, Makiya was a founding member of Dubai Children’™s City, under the umbrella of Dubai Municipality, which she headed for nine years. Children’™s City is the first educational city in the UAE. She contributed greatly to this venture by planning and directing all Children’™s City activities and operations, developing strategies and initiatives to increase its audience both regionally and internationally, and ensuring the City’™s financial stability and growth.
