du Presents GOV2071 Guidebook Experience In Partnership With The World Government Summit Organization At GITEX Technology Week 2018
du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), today announces an extension of its deep strategic relationship with the World Government Summit through unveiling the much-anticipated ‘Government in 2071’ Guidebook Experience at GITEX Technology Week 2018. His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Managing Director of the World Government Summit, visited the stand and was welcomed by Mohamed Al Hussaini, Chairman, EITC, along with Osman Sultan, CEO, EITC and senior management, to experience the purpose of ‘Government in 2071’ – which aims not only to predict the future, but to prepare for it by informing and inspiring policy makers to plan for dramatic shifts that the public sector may face from now until 2071.
Complimenting GITEX 2018’s theme, Experience Urbanism, the ‘Government in 2071’ experience invites individuals to explore reflections of what the future may hold, based on societal and technological megatrends. Where these megatrends collide, innovations occur and are expected to produce significant change across society. Visitors to the experience are invited to step into the shoes of a fresh graduate, a young family or a retired couple and see firsthand how the projected changes will influence the lives of individuals over the years. Future generations both in the UAE and globally can expect to see communities living in space and under water, amongst other eye-opening illustrations.
“We are proud to partner with du to bring this future-forward experience to life here in the UAE. The Government in 2071: Guidebook aims to help both government and private sector leaders, such as du, align their strategies with projected dramatic shifts in the coming decades. After all, with proper planning and agile decision making, leaders today can play a positive role in shaping the future of their companies or countries,” said His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama.
Evaluating the intersection of trends with available technologies, ‘Government in 2071’ identifies plausible best-case innovation outcomes in the coming decades.
“There’s no denying that drastic changes in technology are beginning to pave the way for disruptive innovation. Through the unveiling of our unique ‘Government in 2071’ Guidebook experience, we are allowing GITEX visitors and UAE residents a first-hand look into urbanism and a projected reflection of the future. Paying homage to the exceptional vision of the UAE’s leaders, du is thrilled to collaborate in building the framework for a better society and to harness cutting-edge technology to protect and nurture human life,” said Mohamed Al Hussaini.
GITEX visitors will be able to explore the shifts in government-citizen interaction and experience the du ‘Government in 2071’ guidebook in real life through an interactive display of the following three eras:
