Azizi Developments Sponsors Emirates Racing Authority’s Thoroughbred Sale In Meydan
As part of its commitment to promote and encourage equestrian sports, and perfectly aligned with its overarching efforts in backing events that bring communities together and that highlight the UAE’s standing as one of the world’s premier destinations for renowned events, Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, has sponsored the Emirates Racing Authority’s Thoroughbred Horse Sale at the Saddling Enclosure, Meydan Racecourse on Monday, the 21st of December 2020.
The sponsorship event saw the sale of approximately 110 horses, 3 to 12 years of age. The buyers were predominantly local Emiratis, as well as from other GCC countries. This was the last sale that was held in 2020, with two more to be organised next year.
In his remarks on Azizi Developments’ nearly half-a-decade-long partnership with Emirates Racing Authority, Mr FarhadAzizi, CEO of Azizi Developments, said: “We are proud to be sponsoring this exciting event. During this otherwise challenging time of COVID-19, we are glad we could not only bring together some of the world’s finest equestrians, but also support the horse-racing culture and its development in Dubai and beyond – a sport that puts smiles on the faces of millions. This sponsorship came as part of our strategic partnership with Emirates Racing Authority, which conducts Racing in Dubai events and a Horses-in-Training sales annually. Our involvement is deeply rooted in our pride and passion in supporting important events that bring communities together, especially when it grant senthusiasts convenient means to access horses and an opportunity to redistribute them throughout the regional racing community.”
The support was extended in alignment with the government’s pursuit of solidifying Dubai’s standing as a leading destination for sports and international high-calibre events. Azizi’s sponsorship also sought to encourage interest and inspire participation in equestrianism, while also raising awareness about the history of the emirates, of which the skill and sport of horse-riding has been an integral part.
Azizi’s efforts to promote and support the horse racing culture are realised in its project Riviera, which is strategically located near the upcoming Meydan One Mall and the Meydan Racecourse — home of the Dubai World Cup — as well as Dubai’s major business, leisure and retail hubs.
Designed to introduce the French-Mediterranean lifestyle to Dubai, which is not merely about architectural art but also about a certain ‘joie de vivre’ — a celebration of life and exultation of spirit — Riviera represents a new landmark that will add differentiated value to the real estate landscape.
