Atlantis, The Palm’s Chefs Take Home Three Titles At The Pro Chef Awards 2017
At the ceremony held this week, Atlantis, The Palm Chef de Cuisines, Grégoire Berger, Hervé Courtot and Raymond Wong were awarded a Pro Chef Award, for “Best Chef”, in their respective culinary fields. Chef Berger took home Best Seafood Specialty Chef, Chef Courtot was awarded Best Japanese Specialty Chef and Chef Wong was recognised as the Meat Specialty Chef of the Year. The Pro Chef Awards recognises the Middle East’s most esteemed chefs whom are nominated and judged by industry experts.
For Chef Berger, this is the second year in a row that he has taken home the title as Best Seafood Specialty Chef, additionally last month, Berger took the title of 10th Best Chef in the World at the Best Chef Awards 2017, which is heralded as one of the most prestigious industry recognitions globally. Berger has set the precedent for the fine dining scene in Dubai over the past three years, with his innovative ideas and use of exceptional techniques and quality ingredients, which have played a major role in him being heralded as the most acclaimed chef in the city, earning more awards than any other chef over the past two years.
2017 is also the second year in a row that Chef Courtot has scooped the award for Best Japanese Specialty Chef. Coined ‘the right hand’ of the legendary Nobu Matsuhisa, Courtot has assisted in the openings of several Nobu franchises globally, including Moscow and London and the very recent Nobu Hotel in Riyadh which is set to open this year.
