GE Garages Offers Training On Additive Manufacturing For Saudi Students And Young Professionals
In partnership with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), GE (NYSE: GE) has been hosting a number of GE Garages workshops for KFUPM students since 2016 at the GE Saudi Technology & Innovation Center in Dhahran Techno Valley. The workshops continue as part of this year’s GE Garages program – a series of training sessions for students and young professionals covering topics such as Additive Manufacturing and prototyping.
GE’s collaboration with KFUPM is part of the commitment of both partners to support the growing Dhahran Techno Valley ecosystem, as well as the new era of digital industrial transformation in the Kingdom that directly complements the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to strengthen the talents of youth in next-generation manufacturing technologies, innovations, as well as drive economic diversification.
A skill-building training initiative that serves as an advanced manufacturing lab for technologists, entrepreneurs and the community, GE Garages is a ‘free space’ environment that aims to spark interest and engagement of Saudi youth and young professionals in prototyping inventions and gain hands-on experience. It aims to transfer the knowledge of modern manufacturing technologies to KFUPM students on the utilization of such technologies, enhancing their understanding of future advanced solutions and manufacturing processes.
