A Conversation With Nousheen Muktar
It is not very often that you get a chance to meet up with a social entrepreneur.
Nousheen came to Dubai in 2010, and within a week picked up a job with an educational institute- despite a reported slow down in the economy at that time. After a couple of years, she decided to move out of the box and become an entrepreneur. And so she launched her first venture – a Tech company called Dynasty Technologies followed by a social platform called YESGulf.com. By 2015 she was running a content creation company in Pakistan, a tech-based company in Ajman, and her social platform YesGulf in Dubai.
Although Dynasty Technologies gave her the knack of running a company in the UAE successfully and serve the needs of multiple businesses, she realized the real strength lies in the social aspect of the business. Yes Gulf picked up quickly as the social activities spanned around business development through leveraging on a referral-based system powered by recurring networking events. The objective of this platform was to create a community of like-hearted expats who needed a helping hand in terms of settling down in what could be an overwhelming experience for newbies. However, within a year, expats from Oman and Saudi also tapped into YesGulf network as its activities gained momentum. Dubai with all its glitz and fast-paced life can be exhilarating and the vibe spreads fast. As expats, we have all gone through that experience!
At Yes Gulf, Nousheen organized regular networking events and the group has steadily grown to more than 15,000 members.
In 2019, Nousheen launched Stylfemina, a women’s magazine that is dedicated to guide, entertain and educate women. With women empowerment as its primary goal, the magazine aims at transforming lives by creating a destination portal that discusses beauty, health, fashion, and wellness issues. She believed women should have a support system where they can network and connect with like-minded women to understand how fast growth could be made possible. Stylfemina plans to launch its larger-scale networking activities to ensure its goals are achieved faster.
Last summer, Nousheen started Nousheen Mukhtar International, a personal branding, marketing, and PR agency specialized in corporate communications, media visibility campaigns, image consultation, as well as boutique marketing campaigns. Her company has been involved in the launch of well-known brands in the region.
Nousheen has all the traits for a successful entrepreneur. She helps companies and individuals connect, share ideas, innovate and ensure powerful strategy implementation in the digital world. With her enthusiasm for business management, love for innovation, and creativity she has been instrumental in helping businesses and entrepreneurs form new connections, devise digital marketing strategies, and rebrand for recognition and success.
Nousheen looks at the future with optimism. Post-Covid she has redoubled efforts and is continuing to grow her business. In her words, “I strongly believe in doing things differently as treading known paths will only take you to the same island where everybody else is!”.
