Former Colombian President Lauds Dubai’s Competitive Economy As Model For Latin American Nations
H.E. Cesar Gaviria, Former President of Colombia, lauded Dubai as one of the most important cities in the world that has successfully boosted the competitiveness of its economy through innovation and the adoption of new technologies.
Speaking during the second day of the Global Business Forum on Latin America 2018 in Dubai, H.E. Gaviria stated that these strengths and Dubai’s strong leadership make the emirate a model for Latin American nations.
H.E Gaviria’s remarks came during a session entitled “Future-focused Governance in Latin America”, where he stressed the need for Latin American governments to restore the confidence and trust of citizens and foreign investors.
“Through this forum, we look at further activating constructive dialogue with all strategic partners to finding practical solutions that will drive the next level of economic growth across all nations in Latin America,” he said.
The former Colombian president noted that financial institutions in Latin America remain strong, but explained that more must be done to drive the growth of local businesses and bring greater economic stability and development to the region.
