Dubai’s International Humanitarian City Announces New CEO
The International Humanitarian City (IHC), a Dubai-based global humanitarian logistics hub and the United Nation’s largest supply depot for emergency aid in crises like the Horn of Africa famine, under the direction of its Chairperson HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recently announced the appointment of Ms. Shaima Al Zarooni as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
In this role, Al Zarooni’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the strategic oversight and ongoing expansion of International Humanitarian City, in line with its vision to facilitate aid and development efforts by providing local and international humanitarian agencies with facilities and services specifically designed to meet their needs. As part of this process, she will work to give overall direction of the organization, through effective global and regional financial planning, management of its operations and supervision of all its activities and projects.
Al Zarooni received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Sciences (Zayed University) and two Master’s Degrees – one in International Business (University of Wollongong) and the other in Public Administration (Dubai School of Government). She also recently graduated from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development in June 2011.
