2nd Annual Travel Tech ME Congress Kicks Off Next Week In Dubai
The second edition of Travel Tech ME Congress starts next week in Dubai with the participation of a group of local and regional travel & tourism experts, in a two-day leading event taking place on 26 – 27 September 2018 in The H Dubai, which is organized by Verve Management UAE.
The event aims to bring together international and local experts from the travel industry with key speakers from the leading travel & tourism operators, top solution providers, and academics to exchange ideas; explore the latest developments in the industry providing travel professionals the juncture to meet one-to-one to streamline the process of meeting the business objectives on a global platform, as well as highlighting the rising prevalence of travel technology solution in the world, and discussing the recent issues related in the travel and tourism sector, and how to develop a strategy to promote travel and tourism and all other aspects, since Vision 2020 has always topped Dubai’s agenda with the grand objective to double the tourist number to 20 million.
“With the rapid advances in technology, it is imperative for executives in the travel industry to attend events like Travel Tech ME because rapid advances in technology like real-time streaming, IoT, AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Geofencing, Facial Recognition, Gamification, NFC, and Smart Tones are radically altering the customer experience landscape. Executives who ignore these trends will become unwanted dinosaurs and their companies will lose the personalization arms race. “Every company is a tech company” rings true more than ever.” said Andrew Pearson, Founder & President, Intelligencia Ltd.
“However, the Middle East is one of those fast-growing markets in terms of outbound and inbound but technology adoption from operators and suppliers side is still low and far behind the travellers’ expectation. More than 40% of the global eCommerce transactions are travel transactions and, in our region, the traveller’s tech adoption is really high, 80% of travel traffic is made through mobile or a tablet. Travellers want instant confirmation and same day booking and service providers are getting the message.” said Nabil El-Shafeay, Founder and CEO, Visit & Go.
“We still have long way run to match Europe or US levels in terms of tech penetration, but the good thing is that the market is on a constant move, we now have more airlines than in the past 5 years, more hotels with different concepts and more activities and things to do. We will present huge conversion from offline to online for most of the traditional services and more OTA will pop up due to the huge opportunity that the market is offering.” added Nabil El-Shafeay.
“As our industry is continuing to evolve at an ever growing pace, based primarily upon the plethora of new technological systems and solution available to enhance our business and drive guest satisfaction, as well as commercial results. That said, all this new technology brings a series of challenges to us as operators; from separating fads from the next big thing, as well as judging the timing of investment, to ensure we maximize value for our guests and owners.” said Philip Jones, General Manager, Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach.
This year, Travel Tech ME Congress includes a list of local and regional distinguished speakers: Albert Dias (Musafir), Albert Fernando (Travelwings), Fabio Prestijacopo (Holiday ME), Brett Henry (Travel Daily), Nabil El Shafeay (Visit& Go), Stephen Meredith (Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts), Philip Jones (Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach), Vineet Budki (Guiddoo Worldwide), Mamoun Hmedan (Wego), Matthew Sliedrecht and Sameer Bagul (Cleartrip), Dharmendra Sharma (Oberoi Hotels & Resorts), Sanat Kagwad (TechTreeIT Systems) And many more.
